Brian “BT” Turner
My dad loved the radio, so it was his regular listenership that got me hooked as a kid. Dad was a great storyteller, too, so I think he would have excelled at the craft. In all my years at Robbinsdale High School, I was the anchor for the morning announcements, hence, a career path was born. (This made it hard to skip first period, though. My absence was easily noted.)
After high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and really got a start on my professional track. In my 6-1/2 years in the military, I was a broadcaster and journalist and traveled the world. My first commercial radio gig was at the original K-TWIN – a smooth jazz station broadcasting from Anoka, Minnesota.
Since then, I’ve proudly spent my entire broadcast career in my home area – St. Paul and Minneapolis. The people in these Twin Cities and surrounding communities are the reason that I wouldn’t live anywhere else. I look forward to entertaining you weekdays from Noon to 3pm.
